The Half and One Editorial Fellowship is a three-month programme supporting exceptional writers from around the world. The selected Fellow will receive $3000 USD, publication with Half and One, and the opportunity to engage with emerging creative communities in Northeast India.

Submission Guidelines

We accept submissions in:

• Fiction (up to 4000 words)
• Narrative Non-Fiction (up to 4000 words)
• Poetry (up to 50 lines, excluding title)

Important:

• Submit only one piece.
• The work must be original and previously unpublished.
• Submissions must be in English.
• Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but you must notify us if accepted elsewhere.

Entry Fee

• $35 USD per submission
• All fees are non-refundable

 Eligibility

• Open to writers worldwide
• Applicants must be 18 years or older

What the Fellow Receives

• $3000 USD Fellowship Award
• Publication of two original pieces in Half and One
• Editorial engagement with our team
• Opportunity to deliver an online session for creative students from Northeast India

Fellowship Requirements

The selected Fellow will:

• Complete the Fellowship over 3 months
• Submit two new original pieces during the Fellowship
• Participate in one online session at the end of the programme

Selection Process

Submissions are evaluated by the Half and One editorial team based on:

• Originality
• Craft
• Voice
• Impact

One Fellow will be selected. All decisions are final.

Rights

• Half and One will hold first publication rights for work produced during the Fellowship.
• Rights revert to the author after publication, with acknowledgment of Half and One as the original publisher.

Additional Information

• Incomplete or non-compliant submissions will not be considered.
• Plagiarism or misrepresentation will result in disqualification.
• Half and One reserves the right to withhold the Fellowship if no suitable candidate is found.
